Two Way Brewing Company (18 West Main Street) is a lively neighborhood taproom serving craft beers and select wines and spirits. Its proximity to Beacon’s Metro North train station means—whether you’re arriving or leaving—there’s a convenient spot to grab something refreshing and enjoy some upstate bar vibes. We recommend staying awhile since there’s always another train you can catch. And there’s a sweet little patio from which to watch the sun setting over the Hudson. There’s often live music or trivia nights here, too.

Pillow & Oats Brewing (385 Main Street) sits right in the heart of Main Street. This family-friendly spot specializes in hazy IPAs, but it also serves a wide range of pilsners, lagers, stouts, and sours. A small curation of excellent wines from Fjord Vineyards of Milton, NY is also available for the wine-inclined. Stop by for trivia night on Thursdays.

One of the most popular day and night spots to grab a drink just off Main Street is Hudson Valley Brewery’s (7 East Main Street) tasting room and patio. Craft beer connoisseurs will appreciate the care and attention this brewery gives to its popular 100% New York State beers, as well as its wines and ciders.

The largest, state-of-the-art brewery in the Hudson Valley, Industrial Arts Brewing Company (511 Fishkill Avenue) offers indoor and outdoor seating and a range of craft beers to satisfy every beer aficionado. They also feature an impressive lineup of alcohol-free beers that won’t leave you feeling cheated. For The Wine Lovers

The Grape Rebellion at Savage Wonder Arts Center (141 Main Street) is a wonderfully eccentric and whimsical affair that serves a careful curation of excellent wines from a veteran-run vineyard in California as well as some other new world classics. Set in the basement of the former Mechanics Bank Building, you’ll find this speakeasy-style bar at the rear of Savage Wonder’s stunning art gallery.

Tapas and fine wine bar, Estilo Y Vino (173 Main Street), has established itself as a popular spot in the short time it’s been on Main Street. It offers delicious old world and new world classics with some surprises along the way. There’s an eclectic mix of tapas including cheese plates, shrimp cocktail, flatbreads, and salads to keep the munchies at bay.

Paul Brady Wine (344 Main Street) offers the best of New York State’s wines, beers, ciders, and spirits in a lively bar and tasting room setting. There’s also a shop where you can pick up delicious New York wines, including Paul’s own custom assortment which includes “Fauxjolais,” an adventurous pet nat (a naturally sparkling wine) called “Rock + Roll Mouthwash,” and a Finger Lakes white wine called “Bug Dope.”

For The Barflies

Set in what was once an old theater, The Roosevelt Bar (288 Main Street) is the bar accompaniment to multiple food vendors in the Hudson Valley Food Hall. Visit this colorful spot for classic (and some unique) cocktails and fun vibes. Here you’ll also be able to watch a Best of Hudson Valley award-winning drag show hosted by the inimitable Andramada every Friday night.

Home to the Crappy Craft Club, trivia nights, live music, and DJ sets, Happy Valley Arcade Bar (296 Main Street) offers local craft beer, cocktails, mocktails, and sake in an inclusive, friendly, upbeat setting.

Full of good vibes and atmosphere, Quinn’s (330 Main Street) serves Japanese comfort food and 13 types of sake, as well as Japanese whiskies. There’s also craft beers, canned wines, and cocktails. A seat at the old school diner counter—which serves as a bar—gets you a front row view of an eclectic mix of live music that also includes a weekly live jazz session.

As you might guess from the name, the Bourbon Bar at Vincent’s Eat-Paint-Love (331 Main Street) specializes in bourbons. It also serves a wide range of cocktails and a decent selection of beers.

In addition to serving incredible Mexican food, Draught Industries (394 Main Street) makes a mean cocktail. Their margarita is nicely balanced with a touch tartness, which we appreciate. Meanwhile, sipping an Old Fashioned as the nights draw in for fall and winter is deeply satisfying. Draught Industries also has a great selection of craft beers.

One of the prettiest bars on Main Street can be found at Wonderbar (449 Main Street). This place hits the spot with its perfect 1930s vibe, vintage décor, atmospheric lighting, and awesome cocktails. It’s a great year-round destination where you can enjoy small plates or entrée style meals if you’re feeling peckish.

Open seven days a week: Monday to Thursday, 4 PM to 10 PM; Friday, 1 PM to 12 AM; Saturday, 12 PM to 12 AM; Sunday, 12 PM to 10 PM.

For a no-nonsense night out, go to Stinson’s Hub (439 Fishkill Avenue) and enjoy wings and burgers alongside 20 different craft beers and an array of classic cocktails. Sports fans can watch every NFL or MLB game on one of their 15 (yes, 15!) big screen TVs.

Self-dubbed “the best damn dive bar in Beacon,” Beacon Barking Frog (435 Fishkill Avenue) serves pub grub and almost every kind of drink your heart desires. There’s often live music, so follow them on Instagram to keep up with what’s on.

Distillery Destinations

Visiting a distillery often involves driving a bit off the beaten track. Not so with Dennings Point Distillery (10 North Chestnut Street) where premium, award-winning craft spirits are distilled on site using locally grown grains. This friendly, charming spot is right off Main Street and features a bar and a tasting room for those who want to try something new. They often host highly entertaining events like Twice Told’s True Confessions (happening this Saturday, September 27th), so check their Instagram or our Events Guide for what’s coming up.

Another Best of Hudson Valley 2025 winner is Liquid Fables (1 East Main Street) which is also conveniently located at the east end of Main Street. Liquid Fables distills and sells craft canned cocktails themed to Aesop’s famous fables including The Ugly Duckling (vodka cocktail with grapefruit), The Town Mouse & The Country Mouse (gin with blueberry and basil), and The Tortoise & The Hare (vodka with lemon and mint).

Restaurant Bars You Don’t Need to Eat At (If You Don’t Want To)

The well-deserved winner of the 2025 Chronogram magazine’s Reader’s Choice Award for best new restaurant, Lyonshare (246 Main Street) is a top spot for fine dining, elegant cocktails, excellent wine, atmospheric décor, and a buzzing vibe. Pull up a stool, order a French 75, and perch at the marble top counter for a classic NY bar experience. There’s often live music, too.

Named for Fellini’s 1973 comedy-drama, Café Amarcord (276 Main Street) is an undeniably elegant affair. Within a beautifully lit, warm, and inviting environment, you can enjoy an excellent wine or classic cocktail. We suggest pairing your drink with Café Amacord’s delicious food at the bar where you’ll be surrounded by vintage Italian cocktail art and Fellini film posters. The Hugo (St-Germain, Mint, Prosecco, and Club Soda) is particularly satisfying!

Baja 328 Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill (328 Main Street) serves more than 300 types of tequilas alongside generous portions of southwestern style food such as southwest boneless short ribs, tequila scampi, grilled street corn, and enchiladas.

Towne Crier Cafe (379 Main Street) is a Hudson Valley live music institution featuring musical artists from across the genre spectrum. It also serves great food from brunch, to lunch, to dinner. For those who prefer to sip and listen, there’s an cozy bar room with a window through to the Main Stage area.

You’ll find a comfy bar at La Barbirria Mexican Restaurant (389 Main Street) that serves everything you would imagine. Be sure to pair their intense margarita with a bite or two of their authentic Mexican cuisine.

The Vinyl Room (396 Main Street) is just that. It features an in-store record shop, a speakeasy, and an arcade. In addition to the food, you can hang out at the bar and enjoy an extensive offering of anything your heart desires. Opens late at weekends.

The Wild Kitchen & Bar (416 Main Street) opened early this summer to much fanfare. In addition to lunch and dinner, they have a beautiful bar that serves cocktails, mocktails, and fine wines.

Carters Restaurant & Lounge (422 Main Street) is a locals’ favorite and the perfect spot for those with big appetites and a taste for good honest American food and libations. It’s also a great spot to catch up on live sports. Note: the bar stays open later than the restaurant. Happy Hour is Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 7 PM. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy game day with some special offers, then The Piggy Bank (446 Main Street) fits the bill. Earlier this year, the restaurant returned to the same building that Beacon’s beloved and original Piggy Bank occupied before closing more than 15 years ago. Visit Melzingah Tap House (555 Main Street) for upstate vibes, hearty American food, excellent craft beers, and well-made cocktails. With its top-notch customer service, eating at the bar is just as enjoyable as dining in the seated area. Melzingah is so beloved, it won multiple awards in Hudson Valley Magazine’s Best of Hudson Valley this year.

It’s hard to beat The Roundhouse (2 East Main Street) for spectacular views and a beautiful setting. This unique, historic former 19th century factory offers fine wine and food, and it’s brimming with atmosphere. Choose from one of three bar areas: the intimate fireside lounge, the main dining room bar, or the beautiful patio bar which offers a front row seat to one of the most amazing waterfall views in Beacon.

Cooper’s Beacon (47 East Main Street) is the ultimate cozy pub with an upstate vibe. Choose from one of their carefully curated wines, specialty and classic cocktails, or craft beers to accompany one of many gratifying meal options.
