The Easter weekend arrives with plenty to savor in Beacon. Think live performances, music, art, festive dining, and spring-ready finds—plus a few sweet treats for good measure.
Read on for everything you need to know about what’s on across the city in the next few days.
1. Embark On An Immersive Experience
Every Saturday in April at Savage Wonder Arts Center, 139 Main Street.
Saturday, April 4th marks the opening night of Savage Wonder Art Center’s latest and boldest experiential production yet: The Big Funk by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley. This surreal fable of grit and grace unfolds like a midnight cab ride through the soul of 1990s New York. What unfolds is funny, bruising, and deeply human—a collision of longing, fear, and the stubborn hope that change is possible.
The night begins "outside" The Parlor in the Savage Wonder art gallery, and it ends at a long communal table with a lavish dinner where actors and guests break bread inside the story itself. The show runs every Saturday in April. Tickets are all-inclusive and likely to sell out quickly judging by this creative center’s prior 2026 all-inclusive Saturday night performances.
2. Experience Live Music – Van Hayride at Lucky Dog
Ever wondered what a countrified Van Halen might sound like? Well, you now have the chance to find out. Join this self-described “Hard Rock Honky Tonk” band at Lucky Dog (333 Fishkill Avenue) on Saturday, April 4th. Get tickets here.
3. Catch A New Art Opening At Dia Beacon
Don’t miss Agnes Martin: Painting is not making paintings opening at Dia Beacon (3 Beekman Street) on Saturday, April 4th with a special preview open to members on Friday, April 3rd. This is the first time the influential Canadian American abstract artist’s work has returned to Dia Beacon’s galleries in nearly a decade.
This show draws primarily from Dia’s extensive collection of Martin’s canvases to focus on the breadth of the artist’s output during the 1950s and 1960s, as well as significant works from the latter decades of her career.
4. Time For A Spring Reset
Okay, so maybe this one doesn’t sound like a fun thing to do on the weekend, but hear us out. Spring cleaning is a mentally clarifying exercise and a reset ritual that helps us welcome the new season. And there are shops on Main Street waiting to help you do just that. For starters, the delightfully quirky Sybil (504 Main Street) has all manner of elegant home goods to start spring right, including exquisite essential oils for dryer balls and block printed pillows. You’ll find adorable Swedish dishcloths by Jangneus and an abundance of colorful kitchen towels at Solstad House (488 Main Street), and everything for the kitchen at Utensil Kitchenware (143 Main Street). Head over to our Shop Directory to explore every store in Beacon.
5. Enjoy The First Ice-Cream Of Spring
Everyone in Beacon knows the official start of spring is, in fact, the opening of Ron’s Ice Cream (298 Fishkill Avenue), which happened on March 30th. It’s hard to know where to begin with so many options. First, choose between soft serve, frozen yogurt, vegan options, and slushies. Then there’s the flavor decision to make. But you really can’t go wrong whatever you choose, whether it’s salted caramel truffle, peanut butter caramel, Twix, or banana pudding.
For more sweet, iced treats, there’s also Beacon Creamery (134 Main Street), Five Pennies Creamery (288 Main Street), Retro Froyo (412 Main Street), and The Chocolate Studio (496 Main Street).
6. Enjoy An Easter Special Dish
There’s no turning back once you’ve had a hot cross bun. These beloved spiced breads that originated in the U.K. are strangely not so well known here in the U.S., which is a mystery to us.
Lucky for us, chef Michael Johnson of Brit-themed restaurant Moreish (207 Main Street) is bringing these delicious soft, sweet, cinnamon-spicy buns to Beacon for the Easter weekend only—specifically Friday and Saturday—for eating in and to take out. If you’re bringing them home (and yes, we will!), be sure to toast them, slather them in butter, and eat immediately. If only they were available year-round!
Plus, Moreish offers a traditional English Roast on the first Sunday of each month, which happens to fall on Easter Sunday, April 5th this time. It’s a hot ticket, so be sure to book a table in advance for Roast Beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, and more. (Veggie option is available.)
The Roundhouse (2 East Main Street) is offering Easter Specials all day on Sunday, April 5th between 11:30 AM and 8:00 PM. This includes Maryland softshell crab tempura for an appetizer, loin of lamb as an entree, and a rhubarb custard pie dessert. Be sure to book in advance to snag a table.
Carters Restaurant (424 Main Street) has an Easter menu featuring seasonal favorites and specialties with two brunch seatings available. Dishes include rack of lamb, filet mignon, mushroom tortellini, and burrata ravioli. Call (845) 743-6527 to reserve.

7. Pick Up Some Easter Treats
Sunny side up Easter eggs from Håkan Chocolatier, 462 Main Street.
Don’t put all your (Easter) eggs in one basket when it comes to sweet treats. We are without doubt spoiled for choice when it comes to confectionery indulgences. Pick up some highly giftable Easter-themed candies from the following Main Street locations: Alps Sweet Shop (269 Main Street), Håkan Chocolatier (462 Main Street), The Chocolate Studio (496 Main Street), and Hudson Valley Marshmallow (510 Main Street).
Plus, Noble Pies (137 Main Street) is taking pre-orders for some delicious sounding sweet pies with Easter flavors including Chocolate Truffle, Black Dirt Chocolate Cream, Lemon Pie, and Lemon Meringue.
And if you’re looking for treats that won’t have the kids bouncing off the walls and ceiling, stop by the adorable kids’ store, Sibling (500 Main Street) for all sorts of Easter gifts including books, coloring pencils, adorable bunny finger puppets, and more. Plus, Hunca Munca’s (145 Main Street) has beautifully crafted Easter eggs, chicks, bunnies, and books that are guaranteed to be around long after the candies are devoured.
8. Return To The Great Outdoors
And now that the warmer temperatures are finally here—in theory, anyway—it’s time to get back outside and enjoy one of Beacon’s many trails and walks along the Hudson River, the Fishkill Creek, and, of course, Mount Beacon. What better time is there than this weekend to start to eggs-ercising off all the chocolate treats you’re about to indulge in?
Whatever your plans, Happy Easter and Happy Passover Holiday to everyone celebrating.
