Celebrate the Year of the Horse with Beacon Spring Festival Of Light. Beacon Spring Festival is organized by Beacon locals to celebrate the coming spring, lunar new year, light, hope, warmth, renewal, and kids. All events are free and open to the public.
5:30 PM - GATHER at Polhill Park, between Main Street and South Avenue. Bring yourself, bring your group, bring your homemade lanterns. Line up and kick off the walk.
6:00 PM - PARADE - walk the length of Main Street with light, music, and cheer
6:30 PM - CELEBRATE - End at The Yard, 4 Hanna Lane where lanterns will be displayed and neighbors can come together to celebrate the eventual arrival of spring. Drink tea and tasty morsels around the fire. Take the opportunity to send off last year’s snake lantern and welcome in the Year of the Horse in the traditional of Chinese New Year. Dress warm but be ready to dance. Celebrate the light in the darkness together.
